I was told by a prior mold inspector that I may have mold, but he didn't test properly. Then I had another guy come out and charge me for putting together a mold remediation protocol, and he declined to do additional testing since the first guy had already done it. I then called Anderson Restoration to come out and do the work - I expected the fees to have been in the range of $10k-30k, and that's not counting the disruption and expense of moving out and getting a rental home while they do the work. But when Nicolas from Anderson Restoration came out, he told me to pump the brakes, take a step back, and let's see if this is actually mold in the first place, because he was skeptical. He gave me the names of a couple of reputable mold testing companies (shoutout to Blake Salcetti and Dean Cox from Texas Mold Advisors). They came out, tested properly, and concluded I don't have mold - what I'm seeing are just fruit fly droppings and can be easily handled. Anderson saved me an enormous amount of hassle and expense, and you can bet I will refer them to anyone I know who needs mold restoration or water damage restoration work done. Thank you.Posted on Google![]()

In March of 2024 a valve broke in my upstairs bathroom causing water damage to it and the kitchen below it. Anderson was recommended by my insurance company so I used them for the cleanup, dry out and restoration. They did an excellent job in all areas. I was so grateful and impressed with the work and professionalism they showed but I was glad to be done with them. Little did I know I would need them again. In December 2025 a pipe broke in the same bathroom causing flooding in the kitchen again. I immediately called Jared and asked if he remembered me. He said of course! What can I do for you? I told him what happened and he sent a team. Again they were prompt, professional and sensitive to my needs. They don’t mind going the extra mile for you even negotiating with the insurance company. I highly recommend Anderson Restoration.Posted on Google![]()

Anderson Restoration did an amazing job thoroughly assessing the water damage done to my home. Ramiro Torres is the project manager on my case. Him and his team answered any questions or concerns that I had. They worked seamlessly with my insurance adjuster and they cleaned up after the work order was complete. I look forward to working with this team in the future! Update: Anthony Tran is helping with the repair portion of the project. He is doing an amazing job working with my insurance and providing timely estimates. I could not have asked for a better team!

Step-by-Step: Storm Damage Roof Repair
When a powerful Houston storm tears through your neighborhood, it doesn’t take long for the damage to show. Missing shingles, roof leaks, or a tree limb lodged through the decking; these are more than just inconveniences. They’re urgent threats to your home’s safety.
This guide explains exactly how we do it, what to expect, how we reinforce your roof, and why expert help matters more than ever after a Texas storm.
1. Emergency Response and Temporary Protection
Our area is known for hurricanes, tropical storms, hail events, straight-line winds, and sudden tornado-spawned cells, all of which can tear shingles, loosen flashing, and expose the roof deck. That’s why the first hours after a Houston storm are critical. Rain can continue seeping into vulnerable areas, worsening the damage.
That’s why we provide emergency storm damage repair 24/7. Once called, our technicians arrive within 90 minutes to assess the roof’s condition and apply emergency tarping or sealing where needed. This stops active leaks and prevents additional water from entering.
We also secure any dangerous debris, fallen limbs, or unstable sections of roofing to ensure your home is safe before proceeding to the inspection.
2. Detailed Inspection and Documentation
Next comes a complete evaluation. We inspect every surface, from the ridgeline to the gutters, noting:
- Shingle and flashing damage
- Underlayment exposure
- Soffit and fascia deterioration
- Attic moisture levels and insulation damage
Using infrared cameras and moisture meters, we detect hidden leaks that might not yet be visible. Our documentation includes detailed photos and notes that simplify your insurance claim.
This stage ensures the final roof repair storm plan covers everything and not just what’s on the surface.
3. Insurance Coordination and Claim Assistance
Dealing with insurance can be stressful. Adjuster visits, claim forms, coverage disputes; it’s overwhelming, especially when you’re still recovering emotionally.
Anderson Restoration helps ease that burden. We coordinate directly with your insurer, provide evidence of storm damage, and advocate for the repairs your policy covers. We’ve worked with nearly every major homeowner insurance provider in Texas.
This saves you from back-and-forth negotiations while ensuring your roof gets restored to pre-damage condition, not patched halfway.
4. Roof Repair, Restoration, and Reinforcement
Once your claim is approved, our skilled crew begins the hands-on work, the heart of the storm damage roof repair process.
Roof Restoration and Replacement
Depending on the extent of the damage, we either restore or replace affected sections. Damaged shingles, flashing, underlayment, and decking are removed and replaced with premium, wind-rated materials.
We use impact-resistant shingles and metal fasteners designed to exceed Houston’s building codes for hurricane zones. Every nail, seal, and flashing detail is checked for precision.
Roof Reinforcement for Future Storms
Repair is only half the job. Prevention matters too. We apply advanced roof reinforcement measures such as:
- Extra fastening on ridges and eaves to resist future uplift.
- Ice and water shield membranes in valleys and low-slope sections.
- High-grade sealants to prevent leaks in vent and chimney penetrations.
- Improved attic ventilation to reduce moisture and heat buildup.

If you own a commercial building or metal-clad property, we also handle metal roof repair, ensuring panels are resealed and fastened correctly for future resilience.
Afterward, our quality assurance team inspects every inch, verifying that your reinforced roof can handle the next storm Houston throws its way.
5. Final Cleanup and Quality Check
Storm repairs can leave behind nails, old shingles, and debris. We leave no mess behind.
Our crew uses magnetic sweepers and debris nets to ensure your property is spotless and safe.
Before closing the project, our foreman conducts a final inspection with you present. We review photos, answer questions, and confirm you’re fully satisfied.
That’s our promise. No unfinished corners, no unanswered calls.
At Anderson Restoration, we understand what you’re facing. Our team has helped thousands of Houston homeowners and business owners recover after devastating storms. Through fast response, professional craftsmanship, and compassionate service, we make storm damage roof repair simple, safe, and lasting.
How to Tell You Need Storm Damage Roof Repair
Not all roof problems are obvious from the street. After a severe storm, check for the following signs:
- Missing or lifted shingles: Strong wind gusts can peel shingles or detach entire sections.
- Dented or cracked shingles: Hail can bruise asphalt shingles, breaking protective granules.
- Sagging spots or leaks in ceilings: Water infiltration inside the home signals compromised decking.
- Clogged gutters filled with granules: Heavy rainfall can strip protective coating from shingles.
- Debris or tree limbs on the roof: Even small branches can tear underlayment or puncture the roof’s surface.
If you notice any of these, call professional storm damage repair contractors immediately. A visual inspection may not reveal hidden water intrusion, and climbing onto a wet or unstable roof is extremely dangerous.
That’s where Anderson Restoration steps in.
What to Expect During and After Roof Restoration
A typical roofing storm damage repair takes one to three days, depending on the extent of the damage and weather conditions. Full roof replacements may take up to a week.
Throughout the process, our team stays in touch, providing daily progress updates, adjusting schedules for rain delays, and ensuring minimal disruption to your household or business.
Anderson Restoration also helps maximize insurance coverage by ensuring accurate documentation and damage verification.
When the work is done, you’ll not only have a repaired roof but also a storm-damaged roof restoration that looks better, performs stronger, and protects longer than before.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What time of year is best for roof repairs?
In general, the best time of year for roof repairs in Houston is during late fall or early winter, when temperatures are cooler, humidity is lower, and severe storms are less frequent. These weather conditions help roofing materials seal properly and give crews safer, more predictable working conditions.
However, roof repairs shouldn’t wait for the “ideal season” if your roof is damaged, leaking, or showing signs of moisture intrusion. Houston’s weather can be unpredictable year-round, and delaying repairs may lead to bigger issues like mold, insulation damage, or interior structural problems.
How often will insurance pay for a new roof after?
There’s no fixed “once every X years” rule for insurance to pay for a new roof. It really depends on your policy, the age and condition of your roof, and the cause of damage
